Rachael completed BSc Hons Physiotherapy in 2007 and specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with the NHS for five years. In 2010, whilst leading a back care class in the NHS, Rachael completed her training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) to become a certified pilates instructor, including pre and post natal pilates repertoire. Since completing the course she has integrated pilates within her physiotherapy treatments alongside other techniques such as mobilisations and acupuncture. Rachael has trained in contemporary dance, which has helped influence her teaching style, focusing on linking exercises to work on fluidity and co-ordination.
In 2015 Rachael completed her pilates equipment training at the APPI, which she has since been using to deliver rehabilitation to dancers at the English National Ballet as part of the APPI dance medicine team.
After working with pre and post natal clients Rachael continued to develop her interest in this field, completing postgraduate training in Women’s Health Physiotherapy. This has allowed her to optimize assessment and treatments for improved pelvic floor health and function.
Rachael became a mum in 2017, which ignited a passion in uniting women’s health physiotherapy and pilates to aid a healthy lifestyle. She believes a firm part of women’s health is education, breaking taboos and empowering women with the knowledge and skills to lead happy and healthy lifestyles.
When not at work Rachael enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her two cats.
