I am originally from Edinburgh but have lived in Fife for ten years after taking up my first physiotherapy post with NHS Fife. I am currently a senior Musculoskeletal (Outpatient) and Pelvic Health physiotherapist with over ten years’ experience gained working within the NHS, with sports teams and in private practice. I joined Benji Physio as a pelvic health specialist in 2018.
Experience
My postgraduate training is varied in both musculoskeletal and pelvic health specialties.
My love for football took me towards the sports physiotherapy route early on in my career. I worked as Academy Physiotherapist with Hibernian Football Club for over seven years. I am currently the Head of Medical Provision for the Fife Elite Football Academy, providing weekly injury assessment and treatment clinics and managing a team of physiotherapists who provide match day first aid cover.
I became interested in pelvic health physiotherapy after the birth of my first son when I developed issues myself. I went on to complete one to one experience within the NHS and now treat a variety of women with continence problems, pelvic floor dysfunction and ante and post natal patients suffering from back and pelvic pain.
Working at Benji
Through personal and professional experience, Fife has limited provision of private specialised pelvic health and continence physiotherapy. I am hoping that this clinic can help women to optimise their health and wellbeing at every stage of their life from child-bearing years to post-menopausal and beyond.
