Charlotte qualified from the University of Northumbria in 1998. She started her career at Sunderland Royal Hospital before moving down south to work at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals where she completed her rotations and developed her interest in Women’s health. Alongside this she completed her Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College working part time treating animals at her local veterinary surgery.
In 2003 she started working at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as a specialist Women’s health physiotherapist. She gained her Masters in Women’s health at Bradford University and full membership of POGP. Following this she qualified as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber.
She works as an Extended Scope Physiotherapy Practitioner as part of the urogynaeoclogy and pelvic surgery team, assessing and treating patients in triage clinic and perineal clinics where she sees a wide variety of women. She also performs urodynamics, bladder instillations, pessary fitting and prescribes medication as needed. Her particular specialist areas of interest include Menopause, Paediatric Pelvic floor dysfunction, Sexual dysfunction and Pelvic floor dysfunction.
Alongside her NHS practice she also works privately as a physiotherapist with a complex patient caseload including: post natal pelvic floor weakness, pelvic organ prolapse, paediatric incontinence, chronic pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction. She is currently studying for her diploma at the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine.
Charlotte is married with two energetic young boys and 2 dogs. In her spare time she enjoys all aspects of sport and is currently in training for a half ironman. More relaxing hobbies include gardening and baking.
