I qualified as a chartered physiotherapist 14 years ago and alongside The Havelock Clinic I work at a central London NHS Trust managing one of the largest pelvic health physiotherapy teams in the UK.

I help people with pelvic floor problems including urinary or faecal incontinence, urinary urgency and frequency, constipation, pelvic organ prolapse, difficulties with sex (including pain and erectile dysfunction), chronic pelvic pain and those after prostate surgery. My particular interest is female sex problems (including vulvodynia, vaginismus and persistent genital arousal disorder).

I am very passionate about educating people about their pelvic floor and empowering them to be able to achieve their goals with increased confidence.

I have completed a Masters level postgraduate certificate in physiotherapy in women's health at the University of Bradford. I am the physiotherapist representative on the British Association of Sexual Health & HIV Special Interest Group in Sexual Dysfunction. I am also a member of the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy specialist interest group. I have presented nationally to healthcare professionals and GPs.

Outside of work, I enjoy singing (I’m in a contemporary choir performing at gigs and festivals throughout the year), running and cycling!

Farhana is a specialist women’s health and musculoskeletal physiotherapist. She graduated in 2005 from the University of Cape Town and started her career in the South African equivalent of the NHS, before relocating to London in 2008. She has worked in various NHS and private clinics in London including The Princess Grace Hospital, Little Venice Pilates and Physiotherapy, and 108 Medical Chambers.

She has additional qualifications in women’s health, pre and postnatal care, breast cancer care, acupuncture, pilates and hydrotherapy.

Farhana is passionate about restoring pain-free movement and function in patients. She tackles problems using bespoke rehabilitation programs, joint and soft tissue mobilisation, acupuncture, postural correction and correction of movement dysfunctions. She assesses patients in a holistic way to find the root of the problem and aims to restore function as well as reduce the risk of the injury recurring.

In her spare time, she tries to balance her love of food with regular exercise and is a keen traveller.

Rachael is a specialise pelvic health physio. She treats a range of conditions from pelvic pain and painful intercourse to incontinence issues and pelvic organ prolapse. Rachael has completed extensive training and is undergoing ongoing mentoring offering Pessary fitting for the management of pelvic organ prolpase.

She offers birth screening assessments to help ladies prepare for vaginal deliveries and also the Mummy MOT post natal screening to assist with recovery and returning to exercise.

She also offers pelvic health consultancy to female athletes with pelvic health concerns working alongside their coaches and sports physios. She has treated a range of athletes from ballet dancers to tennis players.

I'm a French physiotherapist practising in England for 2 years. I'm really passionate about women's health. I think it's essential to talk about women's issues and to help them as much as possible to fix their problems.

Edel graduated from Ulster University with a degree with honours in Physiotherapy. Edel also holds a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

As well as extensive pelvic health experience, Edel has over 16 years of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and professional sport including the Scottish Men’s National cricket team and the Northern Ireland Women’s National Football team.

She has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in pelvic health, diagnostic ultrasound, scar therapy, breast care, acupuncture and musculoskeletal and sports injuries and continues to participate in courses and training regularly to ensure she offers her clients the best possible evidence-based care and to remain at the forefront of her profession.

I graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2009 and since then I’ve combined my love of travel with my work, and I’ve worked in Dublin, Uganda, Singapore and now, London!

Charlotte qualified from the University of Northumbria in 1998. She started her career at Sunderland Royal Hospital before moving down south to work at Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals where she completed her rotations and developed her interest in Women's health. Alongside this she completed her Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College working part time treating animals at her local veterinary surgery.

She also performs urodynamics, bladder instillations, pessary fitting and prescribes medication as needed. Christien Bird MSc, MCSP is a Chartered Physiotherapist and is the practice owner of the White Hart Clinic which opened its doors in 1995. Clinically she specialises in women's health physio and Ultrasound imaging of the pelvic floor muscles and perineal evaluation. She treats women who have not fully regained their urinary or bowel control following delivery as well as those mums that appear to make a good recovery but develop incontinence or organ prolapsed years later. She recenlty completely an international certification course to further develop her understanding of how to support women in their 'third age" (peri and post menopause).

Before starting up the clinic, she worked as superintendent physiotherapist at the out-patients department at the Central Middlesex Hospital and as a research coordinator. Christien completed a Masters degree in clinical research methodology from King's College and has coordinated a large clinical trial looking at the effects of physiotherapy for acute low back pain. I enjoy keeping fit, travel and going to the theatre. I have worked as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist for 12 years and have developed a specialist interest in Women's Health. I particularly enjoy helping women back to fitness after childbirth and enjoy using Pilates to aid recovery.

I qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Birmingham in 2009. I am a specialist women and men's health and musculoskeletal physiotherapist. I also have a background in personal training and am a qualified yoga teacher - I use all of these skills to help manage my patient's rehabilitation and recovery.

My approach is to treat your current symptoms, but also to understand and treat the underlying causes of your pain, and any injuries considering the whole person; including lifestyle, activity, nutrition, work and stress levels. I focus on helping you breathe properly as this helps us recover, manage stress and pain and so much more. My passion is helping people stay healthy and active at all life stages, and I have a special interest in menopause. I am lucky enough to live near the Thames and love running along the river and paddle boarding with my dog. I love my meditation practice but being outdoors on the river is its own meditation too.

Kerstin graduated in 1999 in Germany. Since 2014 Kerstin is a MSK- and Pelvic Health specialised physiotherapist for Nuffield Health.

Besides an extensive knowledge in treating MSK conditions. More recently Kerstin is specialising in pelvic health, treating patients with a range of conditions including continence problems, pelvic pain and problems related to pregnancy and childbirth. Her background in MSK means she can assess and treat cases that are more complex within Women’s Health. She has also completed additional training and has experience in ante- and postnatal Pilates.

As a pelvic health physiotherapist, and mother of two, I fully understand how the physical challenges in a woman’s life can become an emotional burden. Often baffled, in pain, embarrassed, overwhelmed and always inconvenienced, women come to me for answers to their questions: Is this normal? Will it get better? Will I need surgery?

I worked as a professional dancer for over 10 years, performing with Matthew Bourne’s 'New Adventures’ and in Musical Theatre, both internationally and in the West End. Once I retired as a dancer, having experienced some very effective treatment over the years, I decided to retrain as a physiotherapist.

Jessica (Jess) Kostos graduated with Honours at The University of Melbourne in Australia, and has since completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy to become a specialist Women’s and Men’s Health Physiotherapist. This enables her to assess and treat any dysfunction of the pelvic floor including bladder and bowel issues, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain conditions. Jess is also a certified APPI Pilates instructor and has further training in dry needling and chronic pain management.

Jess has gained extensive experience working in both the public and private sectors. In Australia she worked in a large community hospital as part of a multi-disciplinary maternity team, both on the ward and in the outpatient department. During this time she won an award for her quality improvement project to reduce wait-times for the Physiotherapy Ante-natal Clinic.

Jess also has experience working in multiple private practices specialising in women’s and men’s pelvic health, musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. Jess’s experience and training in musculoskeletal, pelvic floor and obstetric physiotherapy is unique and allows for a more holistic approach to treatment.

Jess has a particular interest in treating pre and postnatal women, and would consider herself a guru for anything pelvic related. She regularly sees patients with pelvic organ prolapse, abdominal separation (DRAM) and urinary incontinence. APPI Wimbledon is equipped with real time ultrasound which Jess regularly uses for assessment of the pelvic floor and tummy muscles.

Her clinical approach combines traditional physiotherapy with clinical Pilates, dry needling, education and exercise therapy to treat, manage and promote wellbeing. She is passionate about helping people of all ages achieve their optimal physical health and wellbeing.

I have been a physio since 1983 so have more musculoskeletal and Women's Health experience than I’d care to admit! I work in both the NHS and in a private hospital setting as a pelvic health physiotherapist. I have worked in this field since 2007, prior to this being a MSK physiotherapist. My interest in pelvic health, particularly in postnatal health, came after I had my two children and experienced the lack of postnatal care available for women. I am a pelvic floor physiotherapist operating from Physiolink in Harrow, Greater London (nearest tube Metropolitan Line approx 20 mins from central London). I have been working in the field for more than 20 years and have a PhD in pelvic floor function.My work has been published internationally and I lecture nationally. I use real time ultrasound biofeedback for almost all of my patients and they find it invaluable in terms of motivating them/understanding their pelvic floor and how it is functioning. The scope of my work includes management of stress and urge urinary and faecal incontinence; post prostatectomy management of pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction. Anna is a New Zealand trained physiotherapist graduating from Otago University in 2007. She made London her home in 2010 and now has more than 10 years experience in the UK in musculoskeletal; working in both the NHS and private practice. Anna treats all areas of the body but developed a special interest antenatal and postnatal care and pelvic health when she had her own children. She is an experienced msk clinician also specialising in spine, knee and lower limb injuries. Trained in APPI Pilates, and a member of the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists). Qualified many years ago! Have been doing women's health for over 20 years and musculoskeletal Physiotherapy for nearly 40 years. Makes me sound very old!! Now I only work in private practice. I have written many leaflets and papers on pregnancy related back and pelvic girdle pain. I specialise in rehabilitation of abdominal muscles and diastasis recti during and pregnancy. I treat pelvic floor dysfunction and bladder, incontinece and prolapse problems. I believe that all muscle systems work together so my rehabilitation programme covers all aspects of the above. I have a particular interest in menopause problems (being of that age now!) and how Physiotherapy can help. In addition to my Women's Health qualifications I have qualifications in manipulative and musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and hold a PhD in post partum muscle physiology. I am mum to two lively boys so outside of work life is also busy! They love swimming so that is a favourite family activity along with woodland walks and cycling. We are currently having some success with gardening, growing some of our own tomatoes, carrots and raspberries.

I have always enjoyed swimming for exercise and I am currently trying to ensure I get myself to the pool twice a week. Teaching Pilates I get a fair bit of matwork practice but I am also trying to attend equipment classes regularly for a new challenge!

Hello, my name is Emma. I am a pelvic health physiotherapist and I am passionate about treating all women's health issues. I have been practicing for 15 years treating musculoskeletal injuries and all women's health conditions.

I believe in treating women holistically and treat women from the late teenage years to the pregnant and postnatal period and into the post menopausal stage.

I have completed many postgraduate women's health courses and worked in many large teaching hospital, recently leaving London Bridge Hospital where I set up the women's health department. I now work independently at The Halos Clinic in Oxted as ‘Physiomum’.

My special area of interest is in postnatal rehabilitation and ensuring women return to exercise, particularly Running safely and effectively.

As a mum and runner myself I have experienced pelvic floor dysfunction and understand how important exercise and rehabilitation is. I love helping women return to their sport. I also have a great deal of experience treating women who have experienced obstetric perineal tears having worked with Miss Ranee Thakar in her perineal tear clinic.

I feel so passionately about women’s health issues that alongside other pelvic health physios I run Pelvic Roar, a physio led campaign group that aims to spread the word about pelvic health and raise awareness about evidence based, effective treatment.
